If you live anywhere on the West Coast, you’d know that we are still experiencing Summer weather in the middle of October, making our fall essentials a bit different.
Where Summer meets Fall, your wardrobe this season may have a mix of lightweight trousers, shorts, oversized sweaters, and of course layering pieces for the unconventional weather this season.
Hopefully this December, we’ll actually be greeted with WINTER weather.

Must-Have Fall Essentials
Fall Tops for Layering
This season is all about layering your fall essentials. Since the West Coast is still dealing with warm weather, you want to be able to take off your jacket when you need to, or be able to put it on at night when it gets cold.
Kim Kardashian’s line of basics for SKIMS is the best. She hits the point with getting the perfect basics for your wardrobe. Other places to shop for good fall tops for layering are The Foundationals and Everlane.
Fall Jackets / Fall Sweaters
My favorite part of Fall weather is being able to play around with different coat, jacket, and sweater fall essentials. Along with the classic camel trench coat, I’ve been loving the faux leather trench coat look. It gives any classic outfit a bit of an edge.
I have also been wearing oversized button-ups as a “jacket”. When it comes to these pieces, I just thrift them in the men’s section at my local thrift store.
Here are some of my Fall jacket and sweater picks for this season.
Fall Bottoms
As I mentioned earlier, since our weather here in the West Coast is still warm, my fall essentials wardrobe still includes biker shorts and long jean shorts. I like to wear them with oversized sweaters or cropped tops, and will pair them with a jacket I can take off.
Fall Shoes
In terms of shoes, knee-high boots, a good pair of sneakers, and mules are honestly all you need for your fall essentials wardrobe. Throw in some Doc Marten’s as well- you can never go wrong with these classics.
Fall Accessories
Hoops have been the go-to lately, which everyone needs in their jewelry collection. Along with wearing hoops, I loooove layering my rings. It tops off any look.
