I’m in New York!

Moments like these are ones I used to dream about.

When I was younger, I wanted to work in fashion and live in New York City. I’m not quite doing that now, but getting flown out to NYC for work and getting to dress up in such a beautiful place feels pretty darn close.

Ten-year-old me used to rip pages of my favorite outfits from my mom’s Vogue magazines and glue them into my journals, wondering what it would feel like to roam the streets of New York wearing clothes that made me feel confident.

Top (J. Crew – very old, not sold online anymore) | Pants (Thrifted) | Jacket (H&M) | Earrings (Amazon) | Shoes (Nike – linking similar colorway)

The weather here has been so unpredictable — one day it’s hot and sunny, the next it’s cold and rainy. The forecast said it would rain for a few days, so I only packed one pair of comfy, closed-toe shoes. I had already worn everything I planned for a rainy day, and most of the bottoms I brought didn’t really go with the shoes, so it took me a while to figure out what to wear. It’s actually been raining for most of our trip. Like, what is going on?

I haven’t been spending as much on clothes lately because I’ve been trying to be more intentional with what I buy, so getting dressed was basically me mixing and matching pieces from my suitcase until I finally landed on this outfit, which I ended up loving!

Will be back with a full recap soon!
