Current Skincare Routine

I’m going to be honest- my skincare routine is not consistent because I’m constantly trying to find new ways to improve my skin. With one skincare routine, I’ll have clear skin, but big pores or clear skin, but dry skin. There’s always something that’s off. This is why I still play around with products. Whenever I change my skincare routine, I do make sure to do the routine for a few months to get the most out of it.

For reference, I have combination skin where I’m oily around my t-zone/eyelids and dry on my nose. My cheek area doesn’t really get oily. With this skincare routine, I’ve noticed slightly more pimples, but significantly smaller pores and smoother skin. When I say slightly more pimples, I honestly mean like 1 or 2 more, but it’s not even bad.

Overall, it has been working for me and I don’t plan on changing it up anytime soon.

THE BREAKDOWN

Neutrogena Deep Clean Oil-Free Daily Facial Cream Cleanser

This cleanser has salicylic acid which treats acne and helps prevent breakouts. My face felt so much smoother the day after. This is also the main product that shrunk my pores.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub

Whenever I feel like my skin needs a little more polishing, I use this gentle scrub. I’ve learned that when it comes to exfoliating, gentler beads are the way to go. I used to use abrasive scrubs and it’d make my skin feel tender or wouldn’t do anything to improve my skin.

Witch Hazel (Plain)

For my toner, I use plain witch hazel. Nothing special. It’s literally the bottles found in the medical aisle for around $2. Throughout my years of using skincare products, witch hazel has always been good to me. I used to use the fancy witch hazel (Thayers), but soon realized regular witch hazel is just as good- maybe not the smell. That’s the worst part. I hate the smell.

Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream

I never thought I’d spend $50 on lotion until I tried my roommate’s Kiehls facial cream. This moisturizer contributes to my softer skin! You can try the $16 travel size one first to see if you like it. If you buy the bigger jar for $50, it’ll last you a while so you’re honestly not spending too much money. If you splurge on something, it should be your skincare! Treat your skin with love!

Kiehls Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado Oil

UNDER EYE CREAM. Why have I not used this before?? This product is pricey as well, but I think it’s 100% worth it. It makes my under eyes plump and overall makes me look more energized. As a college student, I don’t get my full night’s rest and this product helps rejuvenate my skin. Plus, I look forward to this every time I do my routine. It’s relaxing.

Neutrogena On-The-Spot Acne Treatment with Benzoyl Peroxide

I spot treat before I go to bed to fight my main pimples. By spot treating, my pimples are usually gone within a few days! I am currently using the Mary Kay spot treatment, but it has 5% benzoyl peroxide and it burns the spots I treat. I would recommend the Neutrogena brand because I’ve tried it and it’s friendlier on my skin since it has 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. It’s doesn’t burn me. I just don’t want to waste my Mary Kay.

I love trying new skincare products and am constantly finding ways to improve my complexion/overall skin. If you’re a skincare addict like me, try out these products and let me know if they work for you!

I’ve been doing this routine for a few months and don’t plan on changing anytime soon!
