My Favorite Romantic Movies

Happy Valentine’s Day to all you love birds out there! It could be Galentine’s Day, GUYlentine’s Day- honestly anything! It’s a day of celebrating love!

I’m in a long distance relationship so I’m actually not spending it with my boyfriend. I also haven’t seen him in almost a month, but I know other couples who do long distance relationships go without seeing each other for months so I’m thankful. I’m seeing him this weekend anyways so it’s all good.

Besides that point, since it’s a day filled with love, I wanted to share some of my favorite romance movies. I’m super basic when it comes to romances because I love me a good cliché romantic movie. You know- girl and boy hates each other then falls in love? That kind of movie.

My Top 3 Romantic Movies

She’s the Man – THIS movie is my favorite movie!! It’s funny, it’s cute, and it’s different. Without giving away the whole movie I’ll just keep it short and simple. Viola (Amanda Bynes), a tom boy, goes in disguise as her brother to play soccer at an all guys school, but ends up falling for her roommate (Channing Tatum). There’s so many gifs and memes out there about this movie, I’d be surprised if you haven’t watched this yet so if you want a really good laugh maybe you should watch this! To be honest when I was younger, I always imagined myself going through this in college lol which obviously never happened.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days – My roomie actually showed me this movie because it’s one of her favorites. This movie came out in the 2000’s so it’s kind of cheesy with a lot of gender roles, but honestly it’s still cute. It’s more of a whimsical, goofy rom com for someone who’s more girly or like girlier movies. Andie (Kate Hudson) has a to write a new piece about how to get rid of a guy in 10 days, but to make it more realistic, she actually tries it in real life with Ben (Matthew McConaughey)…. and yeah you can watch to see how that plays out

The Last Song – TEAR. JERKER. Kind of. I just love this movie because one of my favorite childhood actresses play the major role and does such a good job. Ronnie (Miley Cyrus) goes through an assortment of events where she gets sent to spend the summer with her dad, but doesn’t enjoy it at first. She ends up meeting this guy (Liam Hemsworth) and it just sparks off from there! If you want to watch a ruthless teen change to a sweetheart and slowly find herself, this movie is for you. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions and I love it!

I basically just gave you a list of different types of romantic movies, but all with different twists. Oh yeah, another movie that’s on the top of my list would be A Cinderella Story with Hillary Duff… Okay now that I’m actually thinking a lot about romantic movies, there’s so many more on my list so I’ll just put it here just in case you need some movie inspo.

  • A Cinderella Story
  • A Walk to Remember
  • 13 Going on 30
  • The Proposal
  • The Notebook
  • The Longest Ride
  • The Fault in our Stars
