Ever spend hundreds of dollars on a designer item and wear it once? It’s happened to me and it’s just not the best feeling. I remember buying a micro purse from By Far for $300 and wearing it only twice. I saw Kendall Jenner wearing it, so I wanted it. Not the best decision because I did not get good use out of it. That money could have went to something else that I would have used more.

I recently decided to give Rent the Runway another shot. I had a membership a few years ago, but I didn’t really get into because I didn’t have a motive for using it, and it wasn’t really in my budget at the time.

This time around, I decided to sign up for a membership because I needed new coats for Winter. Nice quality coats are really expensive, so I thought this would be a good way to switch up my closet without spending the extra money that comes with splurging on high quality coats. Plus, if I end up liking a coat that I’m renting, Rent the Runway allows me to buy the jacket at a discounted rate (if available). If I don’t like a jacket, I could just swap it out for a new one! It’s been fun lately and I think it’s a great way to save money. You can experiment with your style without the commitment.

Rent the Runway also offers rentals for dresses, bottoms, tops, and accessories. I think it’s worth a shot if you’re looking to try higher priced items without the price tag. If you’re interested in trying Rent the Runway, get 40% off your first 2 months here.
