Post-Grad Plans

This post is dedicated to my readers and subscribers who have been with me since my first college haul video. Thank you for being patient with me and sticking around even if I didn’t upload much… I didn’t upload at all if you really think about it lol. So in that case, I’m really thankful and grateful you stuck around.

Now that I’ve reached the end of my college career, I wanted to reflect on some things over the years and the lessons I’ve learned. I’ve also wanted to share what I will be doing with my degree and my plans for the future! As some of you know, I am majoring in Business Information Systems. At first I really didn’t know what I wanted to do with it. All I knew was that I enjoyed working hands-on with technology because it’s always changing and always evolving. I knew that I would be an industry with constant tech innovations and that is what attracted me to my major choice.

Career

After I graduate I will be joining an accounting firm as a technology consulting associate where I will be working with Microsoft products. If you want to learn more about my position and what I do, feel free to contact me and I’d be happy to chat with you! I accepted this position because I wanted to learn more about information systems design and implementation and IT project management. I’m so grateful for this opportunity and to have a job lined up after college. The team I’ve met along the way were also so genuine and I can’t wait to start this new journey into adulthood. #womenintech

I actually found out about the position at my college career fair. At the time I was doing a senior project that I was really interested in so I expressed to one of the directors at the booth what I wanted to do. I was the given an interview the same day where I learned more about the position and went on my way to 2nd round interviews! If I could give my freshman self advice, it would be to go to all the career fairs to learn as much as possible about internships and job positions. Career fairs are a scary thing, but you just have to bite the bullet and challenge yourself to network. I’ve definitely passed up many opportunities by not being proactive when it came to internships. That’s my biggest lesson I’ve learned- to bite the bullet and go for something you really want even if you’re scared of being rejected. Everyone gets rejected- it’s just a matter of persistency. Once you reach a goal, everything pays off and you feel great. So if you’re reading this and there’s something that you’ve been wanting do, but just haven’t- here’s me encouraging you.

Post-Grad Living

I’m planning to live at home for a while so I can save up. Buying a house is one of my ultimate goals and by living at home while paying off my college debt, I will be able to save up more towards my house goal. As a consultant I will be traveling and I’ll probably barely be at home if my client is based outside of my hometown. This is also a pro of living at home because if I rent, I’d be paying to not even live at my own house! So this is my living plans.

Creating Content

As for my hobbies, I still love blogging, YouTube, and creating content and I want to make it a habit to spend my free time productively doing what I love. You all know I love fashion/beauty and obviously my professional position is not in that industry. To keep my interests alive, I do plan on blogging and making videos still. I really shouldn’t have an excuse bc now when I have free time, it’s actually free time! I don’t have to worry about spending my weekends and nights constantly studying for midterms and quizzes (spring quarter kinda sucks sometimes). I have some things planned and I can’t wait to share it with you!

Good luck to my fellow graduates and remember, everything is as it should be!
